okay so, for years I have avoided the full-fledged smoky
eye.
i’d fake it
with a little grey shadow and some thick black eyeliner and lots of mascara
because for whatever reason i didn’t think my eyelids were suitable for the
look.
too small, too shallow, too something (i couldn’t believe myself when i first thought this and it sounds even more ridiculous writing down but girls… you know what i mean)
too small, too shallow, too something (i couldn’t believe myself when i first thought this and it sounds even more ridiculous writing down but girls… you know what i mean)
anyway, my doubts about the smoky eye changed when I
saw THIS
it is the most perfect, must-follow, easy-to-execute, smoky eye
tutorial i have ever seen (and believe me i have watched many).
once you do it for the first time, it sort of
comes naturally. eyeliner all over then shadow on top. done and done. amazing.
here are some of my suggestions though…
>buy the right brush. I didn’t have the firm
tipped one that you need at first and trust me it’s necessary to achieve smoky
perfection. here’s the one I got.
>also, EXPERIMENT! even though they suggest you
use a goldish black (and i believe they use this shadow in the video) i say, break the rules. try grey, gold, navy and even
purple!
> don't go buying expensive shadow though… stick with
Sephora shadow, it’s the best anyway and there's no need to break the bank on this one.
thanks to Refinery29 for the tip and yay to perfecting the smoky eye!
